The Most Sustainable product by far! – The Kai Jacket

100% Recycled and part of the Take Back Scheme

We have seen some striking ideas but this is the favourite so far in 2023. The Kai Jacket a Unisex stylish GRS jacket made from 100% recycled materials which is a part of a take back scheme. After it has been used the manufacturer will take it back and ensure it does not end up in landfill. All in all this makes it one of the most sustainable promotional item so far.

So it’s stylish:

The product is a unisex design with Waistband for more flattering fit. GRS recycled centre front reversed taped zipper. Inner storm flap with chin guard. Front pockets with taped zippers. Chest pocket with taped zipper closure. Inside pocket. Elastic drawstring with adjustable cord lock.

Sizes available are XXS all the way up to 3XL and the jacket comes in black and navy blue

So it’s made from recycled material

The jacket is a double layer of r100% recycled materials. 200T Taslan of 100% GRS certified recycled nylon, 130 g/m2 and a lining of 210T taffeta of 100% GRS certified recycled nylon, 65 g/m2. This material combination means the jacket is 5000 mm waterproof and 5000 g/m² breathable. So the recycled materials do not give up on performance.

The Kai has one further sustainable feature – the most significant – it is part of the Take Back Scheme.

What is the Take Back Scheme?

Well the branding is all on a removable arm patch – this means you can send it back to the manufacturer. Yes, after use when you feel it is worn out – you simply send it back. The manufacturer will take full responsibility for ensuring Kai does not end up in landfill. After receiving the jacket, it will be professionally cleaned, repaired if needed, and rebranded for reuse. If it is too damaged then the jacket will be recycled so that 100% of the fibres will end up in another product.

A true circular life cycle.

Give us a call for a quote on this the most sustainable of fashion clothing.

"Every second, the equivalent of one truck load of clothing is being burnt or buried in landfill. According to the United Nations Environment Programme, the fashion industry accounts for up to 10% of global carbon dioxide output and for a fifth of the 300 million tons of plastic produced globally each year."* - Bloomberg

T he Changing Cost of Eco-Friendly Products: Is There Still a Premium? SUMMARY • Eco-friendly promotional products used to be 25-30% more expensive • In recent years the volume of eco friendly products has grown substantially • So, the price differences have eroded • Eco and non-eco are now comparable in price – the product features and embellishments are more important to the price, than the eco status In recent years, the market for eco-friendly promotional products has undergone significant changes. Hi, I'm David from Pavilion, and I'm here to explore just how much the pricing paradigm has shifted for products branded as "eco" compared to their standard counterparts. If you'd asked me this question five years ago, I would have estimated a premium of 20-30% for eco products. However, the last half-decade has brought some surprising developments. Eco Products Go Mainstream Eco products have become increasingly mainstream, leading to higher volumes and reduced manufacturing costs. To understand how this has affected pricing, I conducted a survey comparing various popular products. Comparative Survey of Eco Versus Standard Products **Notebooks**: I started with notebooks, considering a batch of 100 with a one-color print. Comparing a standard hard-backed notebook made from PU (polyurethane) to a recycled PU version revealed minimal price differences—around 5%. While eco options like recycled leather or apple peel versions are pricier (£12-14 each), they compare more to luxury brands like Moleskine.
